A solid authentic Italian eatery. Pasta is freshly made daily. We had the truffle croquettes and fried calamari to start. Both were good. The calamari was a bit chewy. I had the Potato Gnocchi with Vodka Pink sauce. It's hard to find great Gnocchi, this one was very good. Soft with a slight bite. The pink sauce was mild, but all I tasted was the parmesan cheese which made it a bit salty. The portions were large, more than I could eat. The service was excellent. Seating was available, but it was busy.

My family and I just had lunch at Bottega. OMG! Starter was a salmon chowder soup. Why isn’t all chowder with salmon? Who knew this was such an amazing idea 💡 And the croutons… You can taste the olive oil in their crust in the same spoonful with salmon and so light cream. Delicious.- For main, I got a make-your-own-pasta with gluten-free penne, black truffle cream, anchovies and burrata cheese. Amazing: Salty, creamy and pasta-y. Highly recommended for the mood, too. Pumping Italian retro pop with Rafaella Cara and Eros Ramazzoti. We will be returning very soon ♥️

Wow. This has to be one of my favorite Italian restaurants I’ve been too! That’s coming from an Italian descendant and from someone who’s traveled to Italy. Absolutely perfect place! • Gnocchi was absolutely amazing and I can’t say enough about it because of how good the cream sauce Gnocchi was. If you love cheesy white sauce with good pasta, then this is worth it. Yes, there’s some grease from the cheese, but it was absolutely amazing. • Lasagna was well done too, I’m not the biggest lasagna person, but this was good too. The sauce of plenty, but there was a generous amount of noodles to sauce. It is very filling. • Pomodori, was very refreshing and tasty. I would happily get this over and over again. If you can grab yourself some! • Environment is just beautiful. My girlfriend and I absolutely loved the environment and couldn’t be any happier with the table we chose and got to sit at. We both loved the look of the small-ish building and romantic setting the restaurant gave. • Service was absolutely amazing and were very authentic Italian service. I am a large fan of the service and the waiters. Thank you Bottega Valencia for the amazing service! Overall, this place is in my top 10 places I’ve eat at from all my travels the world. Keep up the great work!

10/10 experience was amazing, food is a must try, if you’re not sure and just want to book mark this WRONG just try it this is your sign. I ordered the salmon fettuccine w/ the tropical twist and husband had chicken parm. Would be coming back again 🤍

Came across this place on postmates when we were in the mood for pizza. I saw that it had no reviews, but wanted to take a chance cause the menu sounded great. Best decision I’ve made in a very long time. This place was phenomenal. We thought we were ordering correctly for a very hungry couple getting 2 pizzas, a pasta, and an appetizer, but our meal could easily feed 3-4. The Salsiccia e Funghi Pizza is a very traditional flavored pizza with sausage and mushrooms. A very reliable go-to if you’re not sure what to get. The Tartufo Pizza is an absolute truffle bomb. Strong, but delicious flavors of mushroom and truffle. If you’re a truffle fan, make sure to try this one out and dip in the chili oil that they provide on the side. The Mezzemaniche Boscaiola is a rich, creamy pasta like you’ve never had before. It’s exploding with familiar but upgraded Italian flavors that you can’t get enough of. Highly recommend this dish. The Fried platter is good, but nothing to write home about. The all-star of the group is definitely the Crochuette di Verdure. I can’t explain how good this fried appetizer is. Next time I’m going to get a full order of that. Needless to say, I’m extremely happy that I found this place and hope the word catches on about how good it is. I will 100% order again in the future

When I stumbled upon this wonderful spot and heard the staff speaking Italian, I knew i was in for a treat. This quaint Italian food eatery has the best pasta I've ever experienced. The plate was perfectly proportioned to enjoy every last bite. The bread was amazing and cooked fresh with an delightful crunchy and soft texture. I ordered a pizza to take home for a great midnight snack. I don't drink alcohol and the drinks looked like they were well made from the bar. Pictured above is the Alfredo Italian Sausage Gnocchi and the Quattro Formagi Pizza. Would recommend to anyone in the area, worth the trip. The inside seating area was a bit loud but overall 5 star experience.

Overall a great experience. I ordered the chicken parmigiana, but the best part of the dish was the pasta underneath - I’d order a strict pasta dish if i went back. Highly recommend the calamari as it was the best part of our meal. Cocktails were solid, and service was very attentive. The bread served as an appetizer was underwhelming though; it wasn’t very appetizing. Aside from that, a spot worth trying!

A very beautiful venue with clubby techno music in the background (which I caught myself rocking to time-to-time but still semi-odd to have at a restaurant but I digress). The mezzemaniche was okay (3/5) but it came with a good portion size, the salmone fettuccine was great (4.5/5), and the sacchetti was probably the most delicious (4.5/5) as it had a lot of different flavors in 1 one bite but it was rather smaller portion. The soup of the day was flavorless but healthy but can be enhanced with lemon upon request.

There are restaurants that serve beautiful food, and then there are places that create an entire experience. Bottega manages to do both effortlessly. Every plate felt thoughtful, balanced, and deeply comforting without losing refinement. From the pillowy gnocchi to the rich red sauce, delicate prosciutto, crisp salads, and perfectly executed seafood, every bite reminded us why simple Italian food done exceptionally well never goes out of style. Even the atmosphere carried that same warmth: relaxed, elegant, lively, and unmistakably Mission. What stood out most was how inviting everything felt. Nothing overly complicated. Just incredible ingredients, beautiful execution, and the kind of meal that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. One of those places where you leave already planning your next visit.

Sara was fantastic. Hidden gem. We were looking for a real Italian spot and ended up finding an authentic Italian restaurant that reminded me of the homemade meals I had in Italy. The truffle risotto, fettuccine Alfredo, limoncello mascarpone cake, and tiramisu were all outstanding. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff made us feel at home. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you again for the wonderful meal!

Fantastic experience and food on an early Friday night with my two kids. Pizza and pasta fantastic, great wine list, and beautiful spot on Valencia. Extra shout-out to Luca, da Napoli, il nostro cameriere. He was fantastic and spoke some Italian with us! Grazie mille.

One of the best Rigatoni Pomodoro I’ve had in a long time!😍 The pasta was clearly homemade — egg-based, perfectly al dente, and slightly thick, which gave it such a satisfying bite. The pomodoro sauce was absolutely delicious — rich, with a slightly sweet touch that balanced everything perfectly. They have a great variety of pastas, and what I loved most about the menu is that you can build your own pasta dish by choosing the type of pasta, sauce, and toppings. Such a fun and personalized experience! The portions were big and generous, and the service was excellent — super friendly and attentive. The place itself is lovely, and it’s a huge plus that it’s one of the few restaurants in San Francisco that stays open so late! It definitely exceeded my expectations, and we’re already planning to come back to try other pasta combinations. Highly recommend!

Love Bottega. Glad they’re open late. Food is delicious. Service is fast and friendly. Lots of people for an 11:00 pm meal.

Great food and dining experience, definitely a must try in San Francisco. Almost all the dishes are highly customisable according to your dietary restrictions so very convenient if you have large groups with different preferences. The service is exceptional, our server was so friendly and gave us some great recommendations. Overall the place has a really nice energy and you truly enjoy the meal. One thing that i like about this place is that you don't have to make reservations, it is walk-in through waitlist which is very convenient on the days you haven't made a reservation and want to find a good place that accommodates fairly bigger groups. So you can join the waitlist at your preferred time.

This place is amazing and bookmarked for repeat visits and also sharing with friends. Ambiance is great. They are open late on weekdays and a good place to take your date, partner or wife on a date. Service was excellent and our server Alex and other 2 servers also provided great service. Highly recommend for a special night. Food was delicious and some of the best Italian food we have had recently. We ordered Minestrone soup (the best ever), Onion Focaccia had very good flavor, ordered the Rigatoni pasta with peas, spinach, mushrooms and the pink sauce (must get), had Gnocchi with Arrabiatta sauce and veggies and highly recommend this dish. We also ordered Tiramisu for dessert which was great. For cocktail, get the chica caliente as recommended by Alex, one of the best cocktails I have had.

This review is long overdue. My husband and I have frequented Bottega pretty often since we moved to the neighborhood 3 years ago and it is hands down our favorite restaurant in SF. Whether you get take out or dine in, everything is always so good. The mezzamaniche boscaiola is phenomenal (my idea of the perfect pasta dish honestly) and we're also a huge fan of their limoncello cake dessert. When you dine in, the vibes are immaculate. Music selection is on point and our servers have always been super friendly. More than once they've brought out dessert or limoncello shots for us on the house. So grateful to have Bottega as our neighborhood gem❤️

We had such a great dinner outside on the patio with our dog, which had a warm outdoor heater esp useful for cold rainy nights. We ordered the arancini, mezzemaniche boscaiola, tagliatelle oxtail ragu, and panna cotta. Everything was perfectly made: pasta aldente, sauces and meat well seasoned. Service was amazing, too! Our servers were so friendly and attentive. They even offered unseasoned meatballs to dog, which was so sweet of them! Can’t wait to come back for another delicious meal here.

I am surprised how I didn't find out earlier about this place. I love the interior, very modern and floral. Food is amazing, fairly priced, good portions, and nicely plated 🍽. All that wouldn't be the same without their amazing and super friendly staff, Antonio is definitely a 🌟 of this place, his energy is everything. The hostess was very nice too sadly I forgot her name. I will most definitely come back again soon to check what else they have.

Another great San Francisco restaurant! Wonderful atmosphere, great food. Cute place with very Italian feel. Francesco our server was great We had a margarhita pizza and pasta dish. Both excellent! Cozy atmosphere, loud, but ok. Feels alive Great place for an intimate dinner as long as your date isn't distracted by attractive Italian staff! A new favorite!

Simply perfect! The space and the staff are warmly welcoming. From the manager to the waiters to the kitchen staff, everyone is friendly and accommodating. The food is so heartwarming and so close to traditional Italian fare that you'll want to tuck into it and never get up again. A pure gem of Mission, San Francisco.

Experience the best Italian food I’ve had since I went to Italy! Truly authentic Italian cuisine! Our service was great! Our server was an Italian man with a strong butt, easily comprehensible accent! I forgot his name again and he’s going to look at this review and be pissed! We had a bottle of whatever the owner chose for us, pairing it with our order. I went in and asked what’s your best dishes pair it with a bottle of wine and give it to me. Everything from when we entered the door until we left was an amazing experience. I went on Valentine’s Day and only had to wait about 10 15 minutes! Almost forgot until adding the photos they’re tiramisu was amazing!

We had such a nice time having dinner at the Bottega last night! Sara and all the staff were extremely helpful, kind, & attentive. Sara recommended the Guancile pizza and the Oxtail pasta and we loved every bite! They also have amazing complimentary bread on the table! Loved it can't wait to go back!

An absolutely fantastic Italian dining experience! The service was top-notch, the atmosphere had such a great vibe, and the food was nothing short of incredible. I ordered the fried artichoke and the ravioli pasta—both were absolutely delicious! Every bite was full of flavor, and you can truly taste the quality and authenticity in every dish. Highly recommend.

Visiting family in SF from St. Louis and has some of the best authentic Italian food. We loved the calamari, burrata, shrimp scampi apps. And loved the pepperoni sausage pizza, various build your own pastas. The service and ambiance were also wonderful. I’ll be back in the future!

We had a large party of 30 which had been planned for weeks. With a pre selection of 3 possible dishes. Owner is very friendly and accommodating and his limited staff is also marvelous. Food was good. Our wait time was longer than usual ( our group has trips twice a month) . Almost an hour for the meals. I would go back with my family or small number of friends. Smaller groups had much quicker service.

We had a great time here! Our server Nikki, was so patient and attentive for our large group of 16, and her personality was so fun and a perfect compliment to the great food, appetizers, and drinks. They even have some great mocktails for us non-alcohol people. I would happily go there again!

Our waiter, Giovanni, was attentive and kind throughout the entire experience. We started with Brussels sprouts and bruschetta, which were excellent. For the main courses, we ordered gnocchi with Bolognese sauce, gnocchi with pesto, and fettuccine with vodka sauce. Everything was very flavorful, beautifully prepared, and the staff was extremely friendly and welcoming.

Bottega's food is authentic and most of the staff is Italian, they are very hospitable and knowledgeable about the menu. If I lived here, it would come at least once a week. Eggplant Parmesan is the best I have ever tried statewide. Flavor profile of the dish was the perfect melody savory and umuni, creamy and tangy. Restuarant has quality ingredients and willing to accommodate vegetarians.

I’m tired of not being in Italy… but Bottega on Valencia gave me my fix. Everything we ordered was exceptional ... the oxtail ragù pasta, the pizza, and especially the “build your own” pasta with tomato sauce. The sauce was so simple yet so ridiculously delicious… exactly the kind of simplicity done right that makes food in Italy unforgettable. No unnecessary frills, just quality ingredients and flavor that speaks for itself. We also loved the Montepulciano wine, and ending the meal with amaro and limoncello made the whole experience feel even more like being back in Italy. Francesco made the experience even better. He was warm, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely such a pleasure to interact with throughout the night. The woman assisting our table was also absolutely lovely, and together they made the whole evening feel welcoming and special. Bottega transported me right back to Italy for a few hours, and honestly, that’s the highest compliment I can give.

Visit at Bottega is always the best choice for Italian cuisine here in Mission district. Honestly, the menu at Bottega never disappoints me, and every time I visit, I fall in love with the same dish over and over again the Mezzelune Al Porcini (Ravioli) OMG is my Fav. However, last night was a very special dinner, and I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something new. The service is always exceptional, but last night we were attended by a young man whose name I absolutely need to find out because his service was so outstanding that I simply must return to Bottega to ask his name. All I remember is that he was born in Oregon and lives just a few blocks from the restaurant (He said that). This time, we ordered a spinach salad (Insalata Di Spinaci E Barbabietole) as a starter, which also included beets, cheese, and toasted almonds. We also had the fried calamari, which came with lightly battered and fried vegetables as well. For the main course, we ordered the lasagna and the Mezzemaniche Boscaiola with chorizo, both dishes were absolutely exquisite. The music and atmosphere were very pleasant. It was the perfect setting for conversation, for enjoyment, and why not for celebrating birthdays and any important occasion. Thank you, Bottega team, for always providing exactly what I hope to experience when dining at a restaurant.

Fabulous food! Came here for a late lunch around 3 pm and got seated immediately. My friend got the Sacchetti and I got the Boscaiola. Sacchetti was super cheesy and rich so the smaller portion makes sense. This was something I’ve never had before since it had little pieces of pear! Boscaiola with the vodka cream sauce was also really delicious with a perfect amount of sauce and chewiness. Staff was very friendly and I overall had a great experience!

Expertly handmade pastas, classic salads and crispy fried starters — this Valencia Street Italian is good when in the mood for flavors leaning more on the American side. Spaghetti meatball, cream sauce pastas, chicken and eggplant parm. Smartly decorated interior (wood finish galore), with a very friendly, largely Italian, waitstaff. Birthdays will be greeted with a singing troop of servers.

An amazing Italian spot with delicious food and great service. We were a bit worried about the long wait on Friday night as they don’t accept reservations, but thanks to the really effective work of the hostess we were seated in 10 minutes after arriving. The ambiance of the place and the service during our dinner was great as well. We went with salmon fettuccine and eggplant parmigiana and really enjoyed our plates. Portions were generous and sauce’s just delicious. I also liked the Valencia Dream cocktail - gin based with a fresh note of strawberry is a perfect combination. So our overall experience at this place was very good and i definitely recommend it to everyone who is looking not only for delicious Italian food but also for the ambience

Best pizza and Italian restaurant in town!! ❤️ Super family-friendly, they even make a special Mickey Mouse pizza for kids. Our kids loved everything: the pizza, polpette, veggies and pasta. Great staff and warm ambiance. This has become our favorite family restaurant, and we go at least once a month!

Wonderful, girly decor, with awesome waitress and delicious food that's affordable. The setting feels more expensive then it costs, but still casual. I loved everything about it and all the pink chair pillows and cocktails, I cant wait to come back. Who ever designed the resturuant has good taste and the food was so great. I went here for my anniversary, ill definitely be back for a girls night and bring who ever visits me.

We came here on a whim on a weekday. The service was very nice. We sat inside and it was not too warm. The decor was very refreshing with both flowers and more exposed architecture. I thought the pasta was amazing and cooked well. The pizza had a lot of toppings, but at the cost of being a bit soggy in the center. The cocktails were delicious, including the tiki that came in a parrot cup. I’ve heard good things about the tiramisu and will be back.

Very delicious Italian food. Good sized portions, varied selection, and the ability to build your own pasta dish. Tables are packed in tightly and it can be very loud inside. Outside seating is available. Overall a great place for a sit down meal with a touch of elegance.

Had a delightful experience with the kids at Bottega! We were seated promptly, and the staff was so friendly throughout our visit. The pasta dishes were delicious but not remarkable and the vitello marsala didn’t quite hit the spot. The cocktails though were well-balanced. A great spot to enjoy a tasty meal in a visually appealing environment. Very Instagram-worthy vibe.

Good energy! From the moment we walked in, coz no reservations, it’s first come first serve, we came lil late, so we walked right in. I love the interior decors, it’s a celebration vibe, and while we were dining there were 3 birthday celebrations. The plates are beautiful, the food portion is satisfying, my favorite is the fresh sauce, yum! We love and enjoyed all the meals we ordered. We got arugula salad, home made meatballs, chicken parm, branzino, panna cotta, everything is shareable and delicious, I’d come back again to bring friends! Casual, cozy, pretty, yummy hang out! 😋

Highly recommend! This restaurant is super trendy and aesthetic. Perfect for date night/girls night or to celebrate a birthday. The pasta was super fresh- I got gnocchi with pink sauce and I really liked it. They don’t take reservations so you’ll have to join their Yelp check in which can have super long wait times. We got lucky with a spot at the bar since it was just two of us. If you come and there’s a long wait, recommend planning to grab a drink or something at a nearby bar first as there’s lots to do & see in the Mission.

Bottega is one of my all-time favorite spots in San Francisco. Every time I land, this is the first meal I have to get. The truffle mushroom ravioli is unreal—easily one of the best pasta dishes I’ve ever had. Their tiramisu is amazing too (when they haven’t sold out, which happens often on weekends). This time, I tried the limoncello mascarpone cheesecake, and it completely blew my mind. I hate lemons, and this dessert somehow made me fall in love with them. Great appetizers, drinks to die for, and a super cute, aesthetic space. Bottega never disappoints. ✨

This Italian restaurant is a true gem. Everything is delicious and tasty. The mezzamaniche was outstanding, lots of sausage and mushrooms, and a sauce that was just right. The prosciutto and Burrata pizza was also awesome awesome. Portions were plentiful. The service is also superb. And the prices were very reasonable; two entrees and a glass of wine was $60, and were enough food for two people that we brought half of the pizza home. We’ll be back!!

From our very first interaction, this restaurant exceeded our expectations. We called ahead with a large party of 11 people, plus our dogs, and were greeted with such warmth and kindness. Instead of making us feel like a challenge to accommodate, they made us feel genuinely welcome. When we arrived, we were blown away by how beautiful the restaurant was. The décor is absolutely stunning and creates an atmosphere that is both elegant and inviting. We were especially happy to find outdoor seating, which allowed our entire group—including our dogs—to enjoy the experience comfortably. What really impressed us was how thoughtful and attentive the staff were. Not only did they welcome our dogs, but they even brought out food for them. Our dogs absolutely loved it and were just as excited about the dining experience as we were! It’s rare to find a restaurant that goes above and beyond to make every member of the family feel included. Then the food arrived, and that’s when this place truly became unforgettable. Everything was absolutely delicious. From the fresh bread to the pasta, every bite was packed with flavor and clearly made with care and passion. It was exactly what we were hoping for and more. The quality, authenticity, and attention to detail were evident in every dish. What started as a simple dinner turned into a truly memorable experience. Between the beautiful atmosphere, exceptional hospitality, incredible food, and the kindness they showed to our dogs, this restaurant has earned loyal customers in all of us. If you’re looking for authentic Italian cuisine, outstanding service, and a place that genuinely makes you feel welcome, this is it. We can’t wait to return. Thank you for making our evening so special! 🇮🇹🍝🐾❤️

I absolutely adore this place! I walked in and immediately felt like I was transported to Italy. The gentleman that seated my friend and I was so kind and welcoming. All of the wait staff were helpful attentive throughout our dinner. The food was excellent! We got the pizza with Kalamata olives on top and we had a make-your-own pasta (both vegetarian). The drinks were amazing, too! All in all, this place was reasonably priced as well. I left full! Would highly recommend. I will definitely be taking a trip back here to try more items on the menu.

We visited Bottega for the first time. We were a group of eight, and we were incredibly lucky we managed to snag a table. A very trendy Italian restaurant that has phenomenal staff. They were attentive, kind-hearted, and provided great recommendations. I also really liked that dishes can be modified to accommodate food allergies. Generally, the dishes weren't anything spectacular, outside of the sacchetti, which was a nice twist since it had pear inside. The other dishes we tried were more commonplace. They still had good flavor, but I wouldn't pay that amount for them. For dessert, we had the tiramisu, which is something to write home about. Their cocktails are well-flavored but they can be a little strong, so take heed. The atmosphere of the restaurant is hip and trendy with decorations, brick walls, and table lamps for ambiance. One can also eat outside with heat lamps also provided. Unfortunately, they don't accept reservations, so there might be a little bit of a wait time to enter, but as mentioned previously, the wait staff are all so friendly and offer an inviting dining experience.

Greta hospitality, food , and overall vibes. Gets crowded a little later in the night but the staff are very accommodating. Practical advice from regulars for a smoother visit.

No reservations accepted—operate on first-come, first-served basis. Expect wait times during peak hours (especially weekends); arriving early or during off-peak times recommended.

The space can get loud and lively—great energy if you enjoy a vibrant atmosphere, but may not suit those seeking a quiet, intimate setting.

A small number of reviews mention occasional inconsistencies with specific dishes. If a dish doesn't meet expectations, staff is generally responsive to feedback.
